Trip Overview
- Transportation via deluxe highway motorcoach

- A 30-minute, wet-n-wild ride at 45 mph through the New York harbor, with an up-close view of the Statue of Liberty, on a boat called The Beast (weather permitting)
- An awesome view of the “Big Apple”, from the “Top of the Rock”, at the top of Rockefeller Center
- A walk through Times Square and have dinner at Margaritaville
- A visit to The Museum of American Revolution and see Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia
- A tour of Washington D.C., visiting historic sights, memorials, and museums
- A tour of Mount Vernon - the estate and burial place of George Washington
- A tram ride through Arlington Cemetery to see the Changing of the Guard Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
- A visit to Cedar Hill, home of abolitionist Frederick Douglass. Please note this may change as tickets have not yet been released
- We will learn of the harrowing experiences the civilians went through living in
- Gettysburg during the Civil War at the Shriver House Museum
- A guided tour of Gettysburg National Military Park
- Admission to Hershey Park, which offers roller coasters, water rides, and more
- All taxes and tips included, with the exception of $5 per student for our bus driver’s tip, which will be collected the morning of departure
- Meals are included, with the exception of lunch on Day 1
Itinerary
Day 1 - June 10, 2023 - Saturday - DWe’ll depart Pinewood Middle School bus parking lot at 6:00 am this morning for our exciting tour to the East Coast and Washington D.C.! We’ll travel towards the East Coast, and our first night will be spent in Fairfield, New Jersey.
Day 2 - June 11, 2023 - Sunday - CB, L, & DToday will be spent exploring the “Big Apple”. We start with a guided tour to some of New York City’s best filming locations featured in some famous TV shows and movies. We then visit Top of the Rock, where the unobstructed views of Central Park and Manhattan’s mid and downtown skyscrapers are truly one of a kind. After some lunch we take a heart stopping thrill ride, on a 70-foot speedboat called The Beast. Late afternoon, we will walk through Times Square. We’ll dine at Margaritaville, before we say good-bye to New York City, as we head to Philadelphia for the night.
Day 3 - June 12, 2023 - Monday - B, L, & DAfter breakfast, we will visit the Museum of American Revolution and explore the dramatic, surprising story of the American Revolution. After lunch we will take a “run” up the Rocky Steps, before heading to Washington D.C.. Once in D.C. we will stop and see the Capitol Building and the White House before going to the Pentagon Mall for some supper and shopping time before we head back to our hotel for a dip in the pool and a pizza party.
Day 4 - June 13, 2023 - Tuesday - CB, L, & DAfter breakfast at our hotel, we’ll travel back into Washington D.C. to visit some Smithsonian Museums. After lunch we will visit Arlington National Cemetery for a tram tour of the Cemetery and to witness the Changing of the Guard Ceremony. Tonight’s dinner will be at Union Station, before we head out on a guided walking tour of our nation’s capitol. Then we’re off to our hotel for the night.
Day 5 - June 14, 2023 - Wednesday - CB, L, & DThis morning we will travel to Mount Vernon to tour George Washington’s beautiful home. After some lunch we then head to Gettysburg. We will visit the Soldier’s Cemetery in Gettysburg before having dinner at General Pickett’s and heading to our hotel for the night.
Day 6 - June 15, 2023 - Thursday - B, L, & DWe will spend this morning on a guided tour of the Gettysburg National Military Park, view the film “New Birth of Freedom”, and the Battle of Gettysburg Cyclorama, with time for some last minute souvenir shopping. We then spend the afternoon and evening enjoying the amusement rides at Hershey Park! Afterwards, we will reboard our motorcoach and head for home.
Day 7 - June 16, 2023 - Friday We will arrive back in Kentwood in the morning.
